Sacred stained glass with dove: a symbol of light and spirituality
The sacred stained glass with dove is one of IKO Studio’s most popular works, the result of a long working experience combined with a modern vision. A few years ago, we created a very similar stained glass window for a cemetery chapel in Sicily inspired by the stained glass window of the apse of St. Peter’s in Rome. The Holy Spirit stained glass window, had a great success online and became one of the most viewed images on our site, so much so that it inspired a new request for a similar work.
However, as per our philosophy, IKO Studio does not make copies. Each stained glass window is designed to be unique, respecting the desire of those who entrust us with a project. This approach not only guarantees the exclusivity of our works, but keeps alive our passion for art and continuous innovation.
Sacred stained glass with dove: the changes
For this new stained glass window, we have made two significant changes:
- A decorative border finely hand painted, added in the central part of the composition, which enriches the structure with elegant details
- Different shades for the dove, obtained by mixing black and blue grisaille.This combination, unlike the brown one used in the first dove, has created a more iridescent effect with shades of blue and white, which give brightness and depth to the central subject.
The dove, symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit, dominates the composition with grace and harmony, immersed in an aura of light with shades of pale yellow that intensify towards the outside, gradually transforming into warm tones of orange and bright red.
Unlike the first sacred stained glass window with dove, installed in a cemetery chapel in Sicily, this new stained glass window has been placed in a cemetery chapel located in Tuscany, precisely in Pistoia.
Although this sacred stained glass with dove is not a faithful copy of the first, we are proud to have managed to create a work that respects the needs and taste of the new client and that is capable of transmitting the same feeling of peace and harmony characteristic of the Holy Spirit
