Intensive Stained Glass Course in Uraguay: Glass Painting
IKO studio is pleased to announce that we will be delivering our first course in another country in January, 2014. The intensive stained glass course in Uraguay, South America will focus on stained glass painting.
No previous experience is required to attend this course, and it is perfect for someone who wants to try glass painting for the first time.
The course will provide you with the knowledge you need to have: a brief history of stained glass and stained glass painting and then will focus on practical workshops developing the skills required to prepare paint and create beautiful painted stained glass. There will also be a discussion on the different types of paint brushes needed, the effects that can be achieved and other tools essential for this craft.
During the painting session the students will learn how to mix the glass paint with essential oils and turpentine for painting tracing lines, to mix the same colors with water to produce washes and shadings and how to fire the glass in the kiln, including details about temperature and firing times.
The painted glass produced during this course will be, photographed by us for our gallery but the window its self will be kept by the students so that in the future, it can incorporate in their stained glass windows.
At the end of the course the students will be able to paint on glass and carry on practicing to build on the experience they have had during the course.
First week of course:
20th to 25th of January 2014
This course will be hosted at the studio of Laura Gonzalez Russo Calle 35 Pinamar Canelones Uruguay.
Second week of course:
27th of January to the 1st of February 2014
This course will be hosted at the studio of Radamés Theoduloz, Calle Maldonado, Montevideo, Uruguay.
Third week of course:
3rd to 8th of February 2014
This course will be hosted at the studio of Radamés Theoduloz, Calle Maldonado, Montevideo, Uruguay.
At the end of the course the students will receive a certificate of participation.
