Meet your teacher
My teaching experience
My first experience teaching was in England, when Halesowen College asked me to organize a evening stained glass courses. I was the youngest of all, I got to know the students and to familiarize myself with them, from that experience a real passion for teaching was born.
During my time at Halesowen College, I also obtained the Teachers Certificate C&G 7302 Foundation Teaching, which consolidated my educational path.
Stained Glass courses and Glass Painting Courses
Today at IKO Studio with the same passion as always, we regularly organize stained glass and glass painting courses.
We have chosen to offer intensive courses, offering students a complete immersion until the completion of the work.

An International Academy
Our ability to offer stained glass courses in Italian, English, and Spanish, along with the option to participate in one-to-one intensive courses, has enabled us to attract students from around the world, creating an international and multicultural learning environment.
For me, the magic of stained glass comes from the way in which coloured glass becomes transformed by light, the way in which the tiny bubbles trapped within the glass, give it movement and sparkle. The magic becomes complete once paint is applied to the glass, creating delicate shading, subduing the light in places whilst highlighting it in others. This art form is unique. It has transparency within its soul and this becomes glorious and radiant with light.
What will I learn?
The leaded stained glass technique is the one we use most regularly for our commissions. We will share our experience and good practices with you to teach you each phase of this craft so at the end of the course you’ll be able to continue practice alone.

What will I learn?
IKO Studio prides itself on its high-quality glass painting and we are delighted to offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in this area, with a course full of tips, tricks and advice for obtaining professional results every time. The course covers how to correctly mix the glass pigments, using essential oils to trace the perfect lines and to mix the pigments with water to obtain different varieties of shading. You will learn how to use badger brushes to soften your painting, how to apply transparent enamels and how to fire various pigments and stains in the kiln.

What will I learn?
During this course you will learn the technique of leaded stained glass and having the opportunity to create a mosaic of coloured glass. You will then learn the grisaille painting technique and learn to use transparent enamels. This way you will be able to create more complex and detailed projects. You will have less time to practice painting on glass, but you will complete your course by assembling your painted panels with lead and soldering them.

What will I learn?
During this course students create a copper foil (Tiffany style) stained glass project, either a panel or a three-dimensional object. You will learn the different techniques of this craft during the creation of their work.

I traveled from Chile to attend Master Diego's course with no prior knowledge of this technique and no understanding of Italian, but that didn’t stop it from being a rewarding and enriching experience. Diego speaks Spanish fluently, is incredibly patient and generous in his teaching, and his method is very effective, as he adapts to each student's skill level. In one week of intensive work, I was introduced to the technique and created a beautiful painted stained glass piece using grisaille and enamels, all while experiencing life in a charming medieval Italian town.
