Religious Stained Glass

We design and create religious stained glass windows for churches, private chapels, cemetery chapels, and other places of worship, bringing the beauty of glass art to sacred spaces.

Each of our stained glass windows is the result of a careful creative process. The cartoons, handmade and painted in watercolour, allow us to best express the transparency of the glass Our constant commitment to artistic research drives us to find the iconographic meaning best suited to our customers’ requests, maximising sacred symbolism.

Upon request, we are able to work with sketches provided by third parties, applying our experience and artisanal expertise to transform them into beautiful glass art.

Our experience, gained both in our studio and through collaborations with other workshops in Italy and England, enables us to create stained glass windows in styles ranging from classical Baroque and Gothic to modern, contemporary and abstract.

Our religious stained glass windows are enriched with fine glass painting, transparent enamels, and silver stain, techniques that give depth and delicacy. Every detail is carefully attended to in order to ensure the highest quality. To achieve perfect shades and chromatic effects, we fire our glass at high temperatures (650°C), repeating the process several times, thereby preserving traditional methods of craftsmanship.

We use the highest quality materials, including the finest lead came, with thicknesses as thin as 2.5 mm, which are almost invisible in the final project. For modern and contemporary stained glass, we use mouth blown glass, enriched with captivating streaks and air bubbles trapped during the blowing process.

At IKO Studio, we provide a professional organisation that oversees every phase of the project: from design to production, from shipping to installation, always ensuring adherence to delivery schedules.

Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of English and Spanish, we are able to manage projects and create sacred stained glass windows almost anywhere in the world.

In 2018, we created five sacred stained glass windows for the convent of the Benedictine monks of Norcia, installed in a new chapel built after the earthquake that severely damaged the church. This project required a great deal of time, precision, and dedication, perfectly aligned with the spiritual atmosphere of the Benedictine stained glass windows.

In 2024, IKO Studio completed its largest commission to date: five stained glass windows for a church in Africa, namely the Church of “Our Mother Mary Queen of Heaven and Earth” in Rwanda. This figurative set, entirely painted in grisaille, includes a magnificent representation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper.
