Modern Stained Glass for an Elegant Beauty Salon<\/h1>\n

I was commissioned to create two modern stained glass windows for a beauty salon in Rome. Both windows were designed to be installed in ceiling niches, illuminated from behind with LED lights, transforming them into striking visual elements.<\/p>\n

I have recently been commissioned to create two modern windows for a hair salon in Rome that will be placed in the ceilings of two rooms and backlit with LED lights.
\nI was given free rein over the design, and I wanted to create to bright, modern windows with soft colours that would be in keeping with the interior design of the salon.
\nI decided to opt for an abstract design that would play with light and shadows to convey the idea of space, something like a galaxy.<\/p>\n

The hair salon is named Porpora which is also the surname of the owner. Porpora in Italian refers to an intense rose\/purple colour, and along with silver, they form the primary colour scheme of the salon. I chose to make these stained glass panels in two shades of pink blown glass, mixed with yellows and some strong blues, leaving a neutral colour to lighten the entire window.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Design: Abstract and Radiant Elegance<\/h2>\n

To my delight, I was given complete creative freedom for the design, with the only request being to maintain a modern, luminous style that harmonized with the salon’s aesthetic. I opted for an abstract motif, playing with light and shadow to evoke a sense of depth and space.<\/p>\n

The salon’s name, Porpora<\/strong>, inspired by the owner’s surname, influenced the color palette. The predominant colors in the salon are silver and pink. For these modern stained glass pieces, I chose delicately tinted pink blown glass, enriched with touches of yellow and blue. A neutral color was added to balance and brighten the overall composition.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Techniques and Materials<\/h3>\n

For the glass painting, I used grisaille, applied in light layers to preserve the glass’s luminosity. The lead came work, essential for assembling the glass pieces, featured variable widths:<\/p>\n
