IKO Studio’s glass artworks are made using the finest colored glass available on the market, enriched by our expertise in painting with the traditional grisaille technique. Our meticulous attention to detail makes each piece visually striking from a distance and remarkably precise up close. Each layer of paint is applied with specially selected pigments, enamels, and silver stains, then fired at high temperatures to ensure long-lasting durability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The studio was founded in Rome by artist\u00a0Diego Tolomelli<\/a>, who, after over ten years of experience in renowned glass studios in the United Kingdom, chose to return to Italy. Following two years of collaboration with a historic Roman workshop, he decided to pursue an independent path. In 2007, he established IKO Studio, drawing on his expertise and best practices to create unique, high-quality work. \n\t\t\t\tFor me, the magic of stained glass comes from the way in which coloured glass becomes transformed by light, the way in which the tiny bubbles trapped within the glass, give it movement and sparkle. The magic becomes complete once paint is applied to the glass, creating delicate shading, subduing the light in places whilst highlighting it in others. This art form is unique.
