Students will learn to create a classic leaded glass window with the addition of grisaille paint and, if necessary, enamels. It won’t be a real glass painting course but they will also be able to experiment with this technique.
With you we will share all our knowledge about this laborious technique, the students will create the glass panel they dreamed of.
The lead stained glass technique with grisaille painting is the strong point of Iko Studio.

in order to shorten this phase we will ask students to come to us with clear ideas about their project and preferably to share it previously via email. The project will be drawn in full scale or enlarged in the copy shop.
The student will be explained how to draw the lines for cutting the various glass tiles, the most appropriate method for drawing them and the perfect permanent markers for this phase.
The student will learn to cut stained glass on a light table with the use of the diamond wheel and finishing with the grinding wheel.
The student will paint the glass tiles with the grisaille technique and colored enamels, they will learn to trace the lines and apply shades.
In this phase the students will assemble their panel with lead wires and solder the various joints with tin.
Our intensive glass painting course lasts one week (7 days). Normally students arrive on Sunday afternoon/evening to start the course on Monday morning. The course will end on Sunday afternoon after cleaning the stucco from the window.
